Maria to Perform in The Big Girlie Holiday Show!

Maria is thrilled to join the cast of "The Big Girlie Holiday Show" on Tuesday, December 13th and Thursday, December 15th at 9:00 PM at The Triad.

The pop/burlesque girl group sensation, THE GLAMAZONS will be starring in "The Big Girlie Holiday Show"! An evening of sassy songstresses, bawdy burlesque and voluptuous vixens bringing you naughty renditions of your favorite Christmas tunes!

Hosted by Raven Snook the event will also feature performances by Tina Tassels, The Paradivas and JQ.

Maria books RECURRING role on new Cartoon Network show!


Maria has booked the recurring role of Eunice The Lunch Lady in a new Cartoon Network show, TEAM TOON. The show is a live action AND animated series and follows the lives of four school friends who collaborate on a fun and inventive webseries. The show is currently in production in the New York City area.

Maria books co-star role in Lifetime's ARMY WIVES!

Maria will be traveling to Charleston, South Carolina next week to film an episode for season 6 of Lifetime's hit TV drama ARMY WIVES. 

The show follows the struggles, dreams and friendships of a diverse group of women — and one man — living with their spouses and families on an active Army post.

Season 6 returns to Lifetime in winter 2012.

Maria Featured in Episode 3 of New Webseries PZAZZ: 101

Check out Maria's performance in the latest episode of PZAZZ: 101! The original webseries, created and performed by Wade Dooley, shows some of New York's most exciting Broadway stars like Marla Mindelle (Sister Act on Broadway) and Rebecca Naomi Jones (American Idiot, Passing Strange) coaching with Mary Shennanbargger, the legendary singing, dancing and acting teacher. Episode 3 features her acting class of "up-and-coming" performers working on exercises, monologues and musicals. 

When you tell people that you're an actor, this is the kind of thing that usually comes to mind...

Banged Up Abroad begins Airing in the UK

UK fans -- now is the time! The new season of Banged Up Abroad (USA Title: Locked Up Abroad) begins airing on October 16th at 9:00 PM on the National Geographic Channel! 

Keep your eyes peeled for the episode: Caught Red Handed - Teenage Drug Smuggler to see Maria portray the story of a Brooklyn girl in trouble in Colombia. Check your local listings!

Maria helps raise funds for NYC's LGBT Center in the West Village

Maria was thrilled to participate in a benefit reading of Bobby Cronin's new musical Daybreak as a benefit for NYC's LGBT Center located in the West Village. 

The benefit concert was produced by Neal Bennington. The evening was directed by Johanna Pinzler with musical direction by William Demaniow. The cast included Sheri Sanders (Rock The Audition), E. Clayton Cornelious (Wonderland, The Scottsboro Boys), LaQuet Sharnell (Lysistrata Jones, Memphis) and Raymond J. Lee (Anything Goes). 

This marks Maria's third collaboration with Bobby Cronin, having previously participated in the industry readings of Daybreak and Welcome To My Life.

Bollywood, here we come!

Maria has booked a role in the new Bollywood film ENGLISH, VINGLISH. The movie follows an Indian woman who comes to New York City. Maria will be playing a classic New York City receptionist and will be shooting in NYC in October. The film is directed by Gauri Shinde and the cast include Sridevi, a Bollywood star returning to the screen after a fourteen year hiatus to raise her family.

Maria performs in John Chatteron Short Play Festival

This past weekend, Maria performed in the John Chatterton short play festival at the great Roy Arias Theatres in midtown Manhattan. 

The two-woman play, Transferrence by Any Other Name, was a comedy hit! The play, which featured commentary on our love affairs with pop culture, was written by Gwen Baer and featured co-star Mary Jo McBride.

Lots of Auditions and a new job!

Summer is hot, hot, hot here in New York City - but I'm keeping busy! This week I'm hitting lots of voiceover auditions and doing some singing on Monday for a new National Tour show.

Also, I'm excited to share that I just started a new job with Gray Line Tour Buses, the red double decker buses that you see cruising around New York City. It may be a "job", but it sure feels like performing up there every night! Come see me doing my thing in Times Square entertaining tourists from all over the world!

Catch Maria in a recent episode of My Comedy Show Online, a hilarious sketch comedy webseries featured on Blip TV. The Three Collectors is about a group of friends who are addicted to attending any Anonymous meetings they can for free swag and snacks. Maria plays Susan, the one who is only in it for the food.

Locked Up Abroad - Airing Wednesday, July 27th @ 10:00 PM

Catch Maria starring in Season 5 of LOCKED UP ABROAD. The episode, titled "Teenage Drug Smuggler", tells the story of 18 year old Vivian Carrasquillo from Brooklyn, New York. She is overweight and desperately wants money for gastric bypass surgery. It seems her prayers are answered when she is offered $20,000 to be a drug mule. The task appears easy when she's assured the Colombian customs officials have been bribed. But things are not as they seem and instead she ends up on a crash diet in a terrifying tropical jail. 

The episode premieres on Wednesday, July 27th at 10:00 PM on the National Geographic Channel. Check your local listings and set your DVRs!
