English Vinglish is the funny and touching story of an Indian woman named Shashi who struggles to learn English in order to help provide for her family.
The film was shot on location in New York City in 2011 and stars legendary Bollywood actress Sridevi, returning to the screen after a 15-year absence. The film was written and directed by Gauri Shinde.
Maria plays the role of Jennifer, the fast-talking receptionist at the Learn-To-Speak-English school where Shashi takes classes.
