Hotel Pennsylvania in the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival

Hotel Pennsylvania, a short film directed by Marc Wilkins and featuring Maria as the receptionist, was selected for the 35th Annual Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. The festival runs from February 1st - February 9th and features great entries from around the globe.

Logline: 

In a gritty language school, located deep within a Manhattan hotel, people from all over the world are brought together to learn English. As they share their past scars and future aspirations, one man's failures inspire another man's dream.

Theatrical Trailer for English Vinglish Released!

The theatrical trailer for English Vinglish has been released! The film will premiere in September at the Toronto International Film Festival. Maria plays the role of Jennifer, the receptionist at the Learn To Speak English school. Check out the trailer below!

English Vinglish selected as Gala Premiere for 2012 Toronto International Film Festival

Maria's feature film debut, English Vinglish, has been selected as a Gala Premiere for the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival!

English Vinglish is the funny and touching story of an Indian woman named Shashi who struggles to learn English in order to help provide for her family. 

The film was shot on location in New York City in 2011 and stars legendary Bollywood actress Sridevi, returning to the screen after a 15-year absence. The film was written and directed by Gauri Shinde

Maria plays the role of Jennifer, the fast-talking receptionist at the Learn-To-Speak-English school where Shashi takes classes.

Welcome to the Hotel Pennsylvania!

Last week Maria was on set of the upcoming short film Hotel Pennsylvania, directed by Marc Wilkins. The cast included Icelandic actor Darri Ingolfsson. Maria played the supporting role of Casey, the receptionist at the language school.

The film is based on the short story We Learn English By Talking To Each Other by Arnon Grünberg.

The movie filmed all over New York City including at the iconic Hotel Pennsylvania on Seventh Avenue near Penn Station and Madison Square Garden.

Bollywood, here we come!

Maria has booked a role in the new Bollywood film ENGLISH, VINGLISH. The movie follows an Indian woman who comes to New York City. Maria will be playing a classic New York City receptionist and will be shooting in NYC in October. The film is directed by Gauri Shinde and the cast include Sridevi, a Bollywood star returning to the screen after a fourteen year hiatus to raise her family.
